A 20th Century Palace Redecorated by Lorenzo Castillo: Harmony and Luxury in the Orfila Hotel

Hotel Orfila, a small palace built in 1886, exudes the ambiance of an art gallery with its period furniture, marble, and beautiful trompe l'oeil effects in the green courtyard garden. In the 1920s, it gained fame for the plays staged within its walls. Today, its flowery patio invites guests to dine under the stars, and its tea room is imbued with English elegance. This makes it an ideal place to discover Madrid at a leisurely pace.

The hotel boasts 32 rooms, 12 of which are suites, offering the best comforts among Madrid's top hotels. These have been renovated and redecorated by the renowned interior designer Lorenzo Castillo, who has infused a modern aesthetic and technological innovations that perfectly harmonize elegance and classicism with a contemporary touch. This respects its character as a nineteenth-century palace, with patterned fabrics, velvets, damasks, marble, bronze, and noble woods defining the aesthetics and rhythm of modern life.

The luxury suites have been given a more palatial and dramatic treatment with gray damask-lined walls and aged gold curtains that balance perfectly with the English blue of the woodwork.

A new home automation system has been installed to make the hotel more sustainable, efficient, and respectful of the environment, generating synergies with all suppliers under the KM 0 policy and philosophy. Orfila now features more spacious, bright, and exclusive rooms with unique pieces of art in each, positioning itself as the perfect venue for various events. This reflects a commitment to perfecting and personalizing the service so that each visit offers a unique experience, making the entire hotel a destination in itself. Orfila embodies current times where enjoying oneself, the surroundings, and the environment is more essential than ever.

Lorenzo Castillo's aim was to create cozy, elegant, and timeless spaces using wallpapers from his collection for Gastón y Daniela. These wallpapers provide warmth, and when combined with smooth velvets, add quality and profusion. A delicate touch of trimmings brings light and links the different colors of each room.
