Prado Museum

The most important art museum in the country and one of the most impressive at the internation level, it boasts the most complete collections of artists such as Goya, Rubens and Velázquez. Originally of royal property, the acquisition of works began with Charles V, in the 16th century, but was not exhibited to the public until 1819 by Ferdinand VII thanks to the influence of his wife, Maria Isabel of Braganza. The museum shines for its unique repertoire of paintings by the great Spanish, Flemish and Italian masters of the 16th, 18th and 19th centuries. An essential visit during your stay in Madrid.
