Museum that collects works of art, ethnography, and archeology originating in South America from prehistory to the present day. The archaeological collection is mostly from the pre-Columbian civilizations of Peru and Bolivia, while the ethnographic pieces correspond to the tribes of the Upper Amazon brought by the Spanish expeditions of the 18th and 19th centuries and the works of art from the viceregal era (1535-1821). The museum presents a comprehensive history of the relationship that Spain had and maintains with South and Central America.
